Another blog award!

Remember last week when I said I would pass on this beautiful blog award, well in the meantime, I was given this award again, this time from my wonderfully talent friend Vicki! Vicki and I are on 2 DT's together and she is a fabulous stamper! Thanks for the award Vicki, you inspire me too!
I just love this picture. Isn't that butterfly just beautiful! Not sure what it is about butterflies, but I just love them. In fact, I just bought the new butterfly clear stamp from Basic Grey, I can't wait to get it inked up! So anyway...back to the award...
I just feel so blessed to have gotten this award twice and I'd love to pass it on to a few of my favorite bloggers who definitely inspire me:

Kisa Peters -Kisa's Paper Cuts - Kisa was one of the very first people I met on splitcoast several years ago. I can't tell you how blessed I am to have her as a friend. She is one of my best friends and she also happens to be a phenominal stamper. She inspires me on a daily basis!

Dawn McVey - My Favorite Things - I met Dawn through a thread on SCS. I am so glad I found her blog so many months ago...her talent is unbelieveable. Not only is her blog filled with gorgeous cards, it is also filled with wonderful stories and gorgeous photos. I have laughed and cried many times reading her blog. I still think about her treadmill story every single time I'm walking on mine. She (and her dh Bart) inspire me on a daily basis!

Lynn Mercurio - Stamperosity - I met Lynn in the Wish RAK group on SCS. I am so glad I clicked on her blog link to check it one time. I have been a dedicated follower of her blog for some time. She is such a kind and generous person and her work is incredible! Thanks for inspiring me!

Nessy - Nessy's Notes - Vanessa is one of my SBS-13 sisters. She is one amazing stamper. I am amazed every day at her beautiful coloring and adorable cards. Not to mention the fact that she makes more cards than anyone I know.

Jennifer - Glitter in My Hair - Jen and I met on SCS but turns out we live in the same town (or at least we did until she moved a few miles east, LOL). She is a great stamper and a great friend. Our occasional stamp nights at Archivers are the best. Thanks for inspiring!

Queen Kat Designs

Now that the fun (and stress) of World Card Making Day is over I can get back to my regular blogging schedule! Today I wanted to show you a couple of the cards I made with one of my new stamp sets from Queen Kat Designs - Funky Trees. Here is what the complete set looks like:

OMG, OMG, OMG!!!!!

Remember all of those Jacksonbelle sketch challenges I have been doing the past month or so. Well, the sketch challenges were for a contest they were having and I won!!!!!!!! I am SO thrilled. I've honestly gone to Lindsey's blog like 10 times just to make sure I'm not totally crazy. I almost fell off my chair when I saw my name! Here is my winning card:

There is still plenty of time....

I hope everyone is enjoying World Card Making Day! My WCMD is officially over, I have a terrible cold and it decided to call an early end to my stamping day. I am completely exhausted! I did manage to get 4 cards done today though, YAY ME!!!

World Card Making Day - Challenge #3

So how is everyone doing? Are you ready for my 3rd and final challenge of the day?

World Card Making Day Challenge #3
All that GLITTERS!

This is probably the easiest challenge I've posted today. For this challenge all you need to do is make a card/project and use glitter somewhere on it! Any glitter (I'll even let you use Stickles)! One stipulation is it has to be glitter that you add, not DP that comes pre-glittered.

Here is my card:Supplies used: Stamps from DRS Designs, SU CS, Prismacolor markers, SU Dazzling Diamonds glitter, Art Institute yellow glitter, Cuttlebug embossing folder, Scor-pal, transparency sheet.

World Card Making Day - Challenge #2 Heavy Metal Hardware

This is a challenge for all of you hodge podge hoarders...Let's get it out and use it! For this challenge you must use some type of metal or hodge podge! You can use stamps and supplies from any vendor, just have fun!

Firecracker Designs Blog Hop - The "POP" Challenge!

Firecracker Designs BLOG HOP!!

Inspired by an article in a Paper Crafts special issue magazine, called "Cards, Gifts, and More", Pamela issued a challenge to the design team....The "POP" challenge! Each of us was to make a simple card then mail it to another member of the design team. That person would then add or change the card in some way to make it "POP". We were to take a simple card and try to make it extra special.

I didn't think this challenge sounded that bad until I got the "simple" card from the fabulously talented Vicki Parson. It was sweet and lovely and simple as is and I didn't want to screw anything up. I put it on my stamp table and just looked at it for a couple days. Besides coloring the poinsettias, I wasn't sure what to do. I honestly thought it looked just lovely as is. I was nervous about adding anything because I didn't want her to hate it! Once I found the guts to start adding I found a few things that I thought looked fabulous with it...I hope she feels the same! So here they are:

I added red rhinestones to the corners, colored and popped up the poinsettias with foam dimensionals, popped up the square with the poinsettias with foam dimensionals, added some ribbon and stamped some holly leaves on the green cardstock.

So now here is my simple card that I made. I have to tell you, I don't do simple very well at all. It was really hard for me to not cover this with glitter or rhinestones or brads or something. I can't wait to see what Julie did with this! To see it's "POP" version check out Julie's blog HERE

CHALLENGE #1: SILVER AND GOLD!
Since it is pretty early in the morning for a lot of you, I thought I would start you off with an easy one. For this challenge you need to make a card or project using either gold or silver. Gold or Silver do not need to be the main color (but they can be) they just need to be used somewhere on the card. This could mean using silver or gold brads, cord, paper, etc. etc. The possibilities are endless! Have fun!
Remember, you need to post a link to your project on THIS blog post to be eligible to win!

Here is my example. I just got my new set of QKD stamps yesterday and I just love this little alien; isn't she just adorable!
Supplies used for my card: SU black and SU brushed silver cardstock as well as some DP from DCWV. I also used a transparency sheet to make the ships capsule look like glass. The stamp is from QKD and the sentiment is a rub-on from Joann's. The pink stars are from Making Memories.

I'm on a challenge roll!

I got to stamp 3 days in a row...I can't believe it! Today I did the "Ways To Use It" challenge on SCS. Today's challenge was to use a quote on your project. Right away I thought of this quote from DRS Designs. I LOVE butterfly stamps and this quote gave me to perfect excuse to ink up a butterfly that I have never used before. Along with following the quote challenge I also used the same sketch from yesterday's SC196 sketch challenge.

I don't have any new project to share today (yet) but I have a couple fun things...
