Paper Makeup Stamps sketch challenge

On Wednesday while I was catching up on some blog reading I stopped at the Paper Makeup Stamps blog and was totally surprised to see one of my cards. I recently participated in a sketch challenge put on by PMS and I was really flattered to see my card featured on their blog. Just in case you didn't see it there, I thought I would post it here today. I just absolutely love the stamps that they carry at PMS and this monster is at the top of my favorites list. Isn't he just adorable!
The main image is colored with Prismacolor markers and the planets and monster horns are painted with Shimmerz December Sky Blingz (and speaking of Shimmerz...did you know that Shimmerz has a new site full of great Shimmerz info - check it out HERE).

Blog Candy For a GREAT cause!!!!!!

This month my blog candy is going to be a little different...This month I have a challenge for all of you. My good friend Chava (who I've known for 30 years - yikes, does that make me feel old!) has a 18 month old son Alex. Shortly after Alex was born he was diagnosed with having Cystic Fibrosis. For those of you unfamiliar with CF here is a brief description:

Cystic fibrosis is an inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system of about 30,000 children and adults in the United States (70,000 worldwide). A defective gene and its protein product cause the body to produce unusually thick, sticky mucus that:

• clogs the lungs and leads to life-threatening lung infections; and
• obstructs the pancreas and stops natural enzymes from helping the body break down and absorb food.

Here is where my challenge comes in... Chava is participating in one of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's Great Strides walks in Des Moines, IA on 5/16/09. Her fundraising goal is $500. Nearly 90 cents of every dollar raised is available for investment in vital CF programs to support research, care and education. Research and care supported by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is making a huge difference in extending the quality of life for those with CF. I'd love to help Chava reach her fundraising goal. I have already donated to her walk but would like to try and help out a little more. It's Friday!!!

TGIF! I've had a really tough week and needed something that would make me smile today. I don't know about you, but rainbows always make me smile. Every time I see a rainbow I think of my daugher... she loves to color everything she can in rainbow colors. For this card I used the digital Dorothy Anya from The Greeting Farm. I don't know the manufacturer of the sentiment, I bought it a few years ago at a local stamping expo.Supplies used: Digi Dorothy from The Greeting Farm, SU CS, Prismacolor markers, foam dimensionals, glitter.

Shimmery Bunny!

Today I thought I would share a card I made using this adorable Easter rabbit stamp from DRS Designs. The main image is colored with Prismacolor markers and the rabbit is painted with Shimmerz Pixie Dust Blingz. Isn't he cute!

Imagine That!

Today I thought I would share a card that I made using one of my favorite Shimmerz techniques. Besides painting Primas with Shimmerz, my next favorite thing to do with it is make shimmery background paper. To make my background I stamped my image on light blue cardstock and then painted the whole thing with Angel Wings Shimmerz. Immediately after painting the cardstock (while the Shimmerz is still wet) I use a paper towel and rub over the entire piece in a circular motion. For this particular card I also rubbed some darker blue ink over the shimmerz to give a cloudy look. This technique lets you create shimmery background paper using any color of cardstock. I'm sure any color of Shimmerz would work but I find Angel Wings looks great on any color of cardstock.

Blog Hoppin PMS style!

It is finally time for the Paper Makeup Stamps Blog Hop! I was recently introduced to Paper Makeup Stamps and I was hooked immediately. I seriously love everything they carry (I've ordered 3x in the last month and I am happy to say I am a satisfied customer!). Paper Makeup has a fantastic variety of quotes/sentiments, whimsical animals, adorable monsters and enchanting fairies stamps. I love them all!

TGIF!

Hello everyone! All I can say today is TGIF...and boy do I mean it. This has been one heck of a long, chaotic week. I'm so glad that the alarm clock is not going off at 4:30 tomorrow morning. Unfortunately my internal clock will probably still wake me up at that time but at least tomorrow I can look at the clock and then go back to sleep.
Today I have a fun DRS Designs birthday card to share. I really liked how this card turned out but it was really hard to photograph. The designer paper is from this super fun DCWV green pack that my dear friend Kisa sent me (THANKS!). I just love it. The papers are textured and a little shiny. I colored this gorgeous cake with Prismacolor markers and added a little glitter. Dress it up glitter dots finished off the card.

I'm running behind

Sorry my post is a little late (or maybe a lot late) today. We had a busy day and I just realized that I hadn't scheduled a post today. I'm getting ready for bed (because 4:30am comes way too quickly) so this is going to be a short one.

Here's a simple masculine card for you. All of the stamps are from DRS Designs. I not 100% sure but I think the brown ribbon is American crafts and the twill tape is Bobbin Ribbon.
Brads are American Crafts. All CS is from SU. That's about it.

It's a 2 post kinda day!

Ok, so this is my 2nd blog post for today, but I've been reading the comments that everyone has been leaving and the general theme seems to be...another butterfly card...I started looking back over the past couple weeks and yikes, I do post a lot of butterfly cards. So in an effort to NOT be a one trick pony I decided to post a NON-butterfly card *gasp*.
There is a challenge posted on the Paper Makeup blog this week to make a card using 2 types of bling...I could have easily made a butterfly card for this challenge but I decided to ink up some of my new Paper Makeup stamps for this challenge. For my card I used self adhesive rhinestons and Shimmerz and my two forms of bling. Hope everyone is having a great week. Not sure if it is the time change or the weather change or something else but I am totally exhausted this week. I can barely function. I think I'm in need of some major relaxation time. On a positive note, I saw my first robin of the year. The first robin of the year always gives me such an exciting feeling... Spring is almost here and winter and snow are almost gone!
Today I have a sympathy card to share. I made this card using the "Sympathy" set from Firecracker Designs as well as the new "Clearly Greetings" set. I love this new clear set. The sentiments are the perfect size and I love the elegant script!
