My stamp room!

I finally finished putting almost everything back in my stamp room. It is really gloomy today so the lighting isn't great but here are a few pictures:

My stamp cave! Or in other words...ORGANIZED CHAOS!
Here is a wide shot of my room taken from our family room. There is a half wall that divides my stamp room from the family room.
Look at that beautiful trim around the window. Now we just need to get the blinds put in so that all of my Prima's don't fade. They probably won't stay on the window sill but I thought they looked so pretty there for the picture.
Here is another shot from the family room just at a different angle.Stamp and general storage areas
Here is a shot of my table looking towards the family room. The trim in the family room isn't done yet so it is a total chaotic mess right now.
My paper and misc storage
So there you have it. It is a good thing I took pictures today as it will probably never be this clean again (usually you can't even see my stamp table - I am a very messy stamper).
Thanks for stopping by today! Now that I have things put back together I can get back in the stamping groove! Hopefully I will have lots of new stuff to show you soon! I hope you all have a wonderful day!

It's all about the fun!

It's all about the fun! When you are a kid, birthdays definitely are all about the fun (and presents). I love this super cute Dustin Pike elephant stamp from DRS Designs. To make him a little more birthday-ish I cut a little party hat out of cardstock.
I know I have been promising pictures of my stamp room, but heck if I'm still putting it back together. I have the afternoon off today so I plan on finishing things up while the kids are at school. So if I'm lucky and productive, I might have pictures later today! Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you are all having a wonderful week!

Another 3 Challege Day...

Because my stamp room has been under major construction, yesterday was the first time I've gotten to stamp in a week. I don't quite have everything put back together yet so in order to utilize my time wisely I combined 3 different challenges again this week.

Challenge #1: Jacksonbelle Embellishments Tuesday Challenge...this week we have a fabulous sketch challenge. If you decide to play along please use keyword JBE053 when you upload to SCS and PCP. Lindsey just listed a ton of gorgeous Basic Grey pearls and gems as well as some really fun new Inkadinkado stamps! Plus, you can still preorder those gorgeous crocheted flowers too!!!Be sure to check out the other Jacksonbelle Rockstars for more inspiration!

Challenge #3: Paper Makeup Stamps Blog Challenge...this week the challenge on the Paper Makeup Blog is to use anything that sparkles (I used 34 rhinestones).

A little about my card....first of all, I love this sentiment from Paper Makeup Stamps. It gives me hope that someday I will find paradise (because I am definitely currently living in the land of chaos) LOL! Second...the newly released Lime Rickey Basic Grey paper totally reminds me of my life...major chaos, LOL! Third...this fairly simple card took way way way too long to make, thus causing chaos in my already busy schedule...In the end I realized that I'm ok with chaos...my life just wouldn't be the same without it (plus I still have that dream of paradise).

It is really hard to tell from this picture but the darker cardstock used is eggplant (not black)

Thanks for stopping by today. I'm hoping to get my stamp room finished today and maybe even take a picture of it. I hope you all have a fabulous day!

Cutie Pie Kid Monday

Today I thought I would take a break from the DRS new releases and show a card that I made with one of the Cutie Pie Kids images that were released a few months ago. I love these kids. This one in particular is one of my favorites. Isn't he SOOO cute!!! You can see all of the DRS Designs Cutie Pie Kids images HERE!!!
And don't forget about those awesome grab bags...if you want to get a good DRS Designs collection started for a really reasonable price, check them out HERE!

Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Happy Mother's Day!

I hope everyone is having a great Mother's Day! I haven't stamped in 6 days but I'm happy to say that the trim is done in my stamp room and I got to move almost everything back in (there is still a little drywall spot that needs to be done in one corner). I can't tell you how happy I am. I spent 4 hours putting things back and I probably still have about 2 hours of organizing left to do tomorrow but that is ok because I can stamp tomorrow! YAY!!!

I'm not going to post a card today but I do want to post a super sweet blog award that was given to me by the awesomely talented Katie Cotton. Thank you Katie for totally making my day!!!!

This award is given to those that show positive attitude and gratitude daily.
Now it's my turn to chose 5-10 bloggers that I feel worthy of this award. All of the ladies I have chosen inspire me daily with their positive attitudes, generosity, gratitude and talent! I feel so blessed to consider these people my friends!

Visit their blogs for your own inspiration.

Happy Saturday!

I still don't have a stamp room but I do have a cute card to share. I made this card several weeks ago for one of the Paper Makeup Stamps sketch challenges. Isn't this guy cute!!! I just love him! The set is called "Nuts About You" and comes with this cute little guy plus a cute bunch of acorns and a couple sentiments for only $6 for bare rubber or $8 on ez mount. You can't beat that! To make things even better PMS has super reasonable shipping charges. If you have never been to Paper Makeup Stamps now is a great time...there are tons of super cute new releases that you won't want to miss out on (I've already ordered the new releases and can't wait for them to get here!).
I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend! Thanks for stopping by today!

No stamp room and no internet....

can you say "crabby mom". My stamp room is still under construction and to make things worse, our internet was also down all day. Talk about bad day! Those are the 2 things that keep me sane! Thankfully the internet just starting working again!!

Here is another card made with one of the new Dustin Pike images from DRS Designs. I adore all of these new images. They are so fun and cute and great to color! The strange thing about this card is...I actually stamped a background stamp all over the orange cardstock and when I went back the next morning the background was gone. I had used orange on orange just to give it a subtle look but apparently it was too subtle, lol. I had the card glued together by that point so I couldn't redo the background.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Thanks for stopping by today.

Cuddle Me Sophia

We are finally having the trim done in our basement. The basement was finished except for the trim when we bought the house and it has taken us 8 years to finally get around to having it done. This means my stamp room is currently under construction so there will be no stamping for me for a couple days. Thankfully I have a pretty big stock pile of cards that I can post to my blog.
Today I thought I would share another one of the cards I entered in the May Paper Pretties Cutie Pie contest. I am absolutely in love with Cuddle Me Sophia. She makes me smile every time I look at her. Makes we wish my kids could stay kids forever. Wouldn't that be awesome. I miss the days when a big hug from my favorite teddy bear made everything all better.

It is hard to tell from the picture but the darker cardstock is actually chocolate chip and not black. I was going to add a sentiment but I thought this one looked pretty good without. Sometimes I guess simple is better.
Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you are all having a wonderful day!

Simple Monochromatic Baby Card

Today I wanted to share a simple monochromatic card. I don't typically do monochromatic but I thought that this sentiment worked perfect for this kind of card...whenever I think about baby girls, pink automatically comes to my mind. I really liked how this card came together. It is simple but still has a nice, elegant look to it. The background was made using the baby pin stamp from DRS Designs. I added glitter to the heads of the baby pins to give the card that little extra sparkle.
Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you all have a great day!

I'm still in a funk but my blog must go on...

I'm still living in the world of chaos, but I'm trying to keep up. How do I keep up? Well...by combining 3 challenges in 1 card. Those of you who know me well, know that I am a total nerd who tries to stay about a month ahead on all of my design team commitments... so you know I was in total panic mode a week ago knowing I didn't have this week's card done yet. So just imagine what that panic turned into when it was yesterday afternoon and I still didn't have today's challenge done. Along with being a total mess, I seem to have lost every bit of creativity I might have had. This card is sort of a picture or me...a little too much, not quite enough, sort of dark, sort of sunny, mixed up and still sort of organized...

So today marks another Jacksonbelle Embellishments challenge. This week the design team was challenged to use these GORGEOUS crocheted flowers on our projects. These flowers are SOOOO incredible. They are handmade by Melody Schwartz (aka lacyquilter on SCSers). They come in packages of 8 flowers for $7.99. Shipping is $2.25 for up to 10 packages. You can pre-order these on the Jacksonbelle website. I also want to mention that all Memory Box items are 30% off, Stickles are 15% off and there are some fabulous new Inkadinkado stamps that were just added to the store.

This is also my card for this week's Madelynn's Twinkling Tuesday sketch (for my card I flipped the sketch on its side)

DRS Designs blog challenge #20

Welcome back to Challenge #20 in the DRS Designs blog challenge series. This week the challenge is to create a project/card using your favorite technique. We hope this inspires you to pull out your stamps and get stamping! We would love for you to play along with us. Share your favorite technique with us...you just may introduce us to something we've never tried before! If you play along, please post a direct link to your project in the comment section of the challenge post on the DRS blog. If you upload to a public gallery, please use the keyword DRSC20. If you play along, you'll enter yourself into a drawing for some blog candy being given by DRS Designs (make sure you post your link on the DRS blog). Drawing will take place Sunday night, May 17, 2009. (You do not need DRS images to play, but if you have them, by all means use them!)
Check out the DRS blog to see the favorite techniques of all of the design team members!

When I saw this challenge I realized that I'm not really a technique girl. I don't really do anything fancy or unusal. I'm more of a stamps, paper, glue, markers girl. So after thinking about it I decided my favorite techniques (if you can even call them techniques) are:
-Coloring with markers...this is my favorite thing to do right now
-detail cutting / adding dimension (I cut out a lot of things and pop them up with dimensionals)
and
-omitting (A LOT of times I only use a portion of a image..therefore omitting part of it - I most often do this with sentiments.) For my card I used this stamp but only used the "congratulations" part of the sentiment (omitting the rest)

Here is a card where I used all 3 of these techniques:
Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you all have a wonderful week!

I promise I will have my blog candy winner posted later today (I wanted to go through and post the list of everyones fav books and movies, but I haven't gotten to that yet) and I also have some fun Shimmerz NSD stuff to post later to.

MTTSC20 Ribbit, Ribbit

This is my 2nd post today. To see my Jacksonbelle Tuesday Challenge card please scroll down to the previous post.

I'm cheating a little on this week's Twinkling Tuesday challenge. I actually made this card a few weeks ago but since it fit the challenge so perfectly, I'm using it!
The challenge this week is to make a card with a frog on it (or any other critter if you don't have a frog stamp). If you decide to play along with us this week, please use keyword MTTSC20 when uploading to PCP or SCS.

The stamps I used are all from DRS Designs. I have loved this Cutie Pie kid since the first time I saw him in the DRS catalog. I was so excited to finally get my hands on him and this is the first card I've made with him. The cute little frog in the background is one the stamps you can choose for free when you join the DRS Designs Rubber Mania Monthly...if you've never heard about Rubber Mania, check out the deets HERE. Did you notice I used my favorite stamp EVER yet again...the easy grass background! Have you bought this stamp yet? If not, you should. It is awesome!!!
Supplies used: Stamps from DRS Designs, SU CS, Prismacolor markers, Cuttbug embossing folder, foam dimensionals.

Speaking of DRS Designs....I was browsing their newly updated website yesterday and came across something I couldn't wait to share with all of you...GRAB BAGS! DRS has grab bags of rubber for only $7.95. This is an AWESOME deal and a great way to pick up a varitey of high quality unmounted rubber stamps. If you are new to DRS, this would be a great economical way to start your collection. These grab bags are high quality stamps (no seconds) and there are no duplicates. This is seriously a FABULOUS deal!!! To check out the grab bags click HERE.

Be sure to check out the blogs of the other Twinkling Tuesday design team members for some more frog-tastic inspiration!

Little Paper Shop inspiration challenge

I don't know if I've mentioned it on my blog before but I am really picky about stamp quality. When I first tried out clear stamps a few years ago I hated them. I didn't think clear stamps could give a quality image. In fact after buying several brands I ended up giving away all of my clear stamps. I didn't even consider clear stamps again for several months. The problem was, I kept seeing a ton of super cute images that were only available in clear. I finally gave in and started trying out clear stamps again. I have found that there is a SIGNIFICANT range of quality in clear stamps. Little Paper Shop stamps happen to be some of the absolute best quality clear stamps that I have found (Our Craft Lounge, Inkadinkado and There She Goes are my other absolute favorites!) (I won't publicly post the companies that I think have poor quality clear stamps but if you want to know my opinions send me an email and we can chat). If you haven't tried out LPS I highly recommend them...and BTW, they are having an AWESOME sale right now (I just placed a huge order yesterday).
On Monday last week the LPS blog posted an inspriation challenge. I had hoped to work on this all week but time just got away from me. I finally found some time tonight to stamp and thought I would play along. Here is the inspiration challenge photo:

Here is my card (and as crazy as it might seem, I didn't use a butterfly on my card, lol):Supplies used: Stamp from LPS, SU CS, BG DP, Dress it up glitter dots, Prima flower, SU scalloped edge punch.

Thanks for stopping by. Don't forget to stop by tomorrow for my first DRS Designs May sneak peek.

Guess what this is....

The newest stamps at DRS will be released in less than a week! We can't start showing you the images until tomorrow but I thought I would give you a teeny tiny sneak peek today. I am SOOOOOOOO excited about this release and I KNOW you will be too. You will love EVERY SINGLE ONE of the new images that the wonderful DRS Designs artists came up with this month! Stop by tomorrow for the full picture!

Hope you are all having a fabulous weekend!
