Is it Friday yet?

Seems like I can't seem to keep my head above water lately. Life is just busy busy busy. I could really use some major rest and relaxation, but I guess I'll have to settle for new carpet! Our new carpet is finally getting installed today. Tom and I tore out all of our old carpet about a week or so ago and I can't wait to have nice soft cushioned carpet under my feet again instead of dirty, splinter filled wood.

I posted these cards on the DRS Designs blog yesterday but I thought I would post them here in case any of you missed them. I made these last week during the Stampin Out Alzheimers challenges. DRS Designs has a ton of really great graduation images and sentiments, you should really check them out!
All three of my cards use the same 2 graduation stamps from DRS. I wanted to show you that even with limited supplies you can still create a multitude of unique cards. I also purposely didn't use any designer paper. DRS has a ton of fabulous background stamps (including this graduation background) that make creating your own designer paper a breeze!

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you are all having a great week!

Just for fun!

Today I thought I would share one of those "just for fun" cards. This is another one of the cards that I made for the Paper Pretties Cutie Pie contest last month. I am just so in love with this Cuddle Me Sophia!

Hope you are all having a fabulous week! Thanks for stopping by!

Shimmerz Darez!

This is my second post of the day. Please scroll down for my JB and TT challenge.

This is a brand new weekly feature on the Shimmerz blog: Shimmerz Darez.

Every Tuesday, a different member of the Shimmerz Design Team will challenge you to create something wonderful using Shimmerz, Blingz, or Spritz. If you'd like to participate and create something with us, great! Just leave your name & URL of the specific post or gallery picture on the Shimmerz blog Darez post with Mr. Linky. The following Monday afternoon, Shimmerz will have a random drawing for the winner of a prize pack of goodies from Shimmering Products. How does that sound? We hope you'll join us whenever you can!

For anyone participating, here is a blinkie you can grab for your blog to let everyone know that you're a Dare Diva! :) (Doesn't Jeni do a fabulous job with these?)

The very first dare is to use Shimmerz, Blingz and/or Spritz on a picture frame.

For my project I made a magnetic picture frame. The magnets have CS and then Prima flowers painted with Hi Ho Silver Blingz. I added some gems for the flower centers. I took pictures of the frame with different photos on it. The flower stamp is from DRS Designs.

Here is a side view:

Jacksonbelle Tuesday!

It is time for another great Jacksonbelle Embellishments blog challenge. This week our challenge is a sketch. If you decide to play along please use keyword JBE056 when you upload to SCS or PCP.

Here is the sketch:As seems to be my bad habit lately, I also incorporated this week's Twinkling Tuesday challenge in on this card. This week's TT challenge is an inspiration challenge given to us by Jameson, the 8 year old son of TT design team member Rebecca. The inspiration challenge came from the book Suki's Kimono:
I chose to use this as a color challenge inspiration...Orange and blue.

Here is my card:
My card uses Pink Paislee designer paper from Jacksonbelle. Isn't it just delish! The cardstock is SU and the sentiment stamp comes from Little Paper Shop. The self adhesive pearls are Kaiser.

Jacksonbelle is having an awesome sale on Shimmerz and Blingz paint this week...30% off! What a great time to stock up! She also just added Spritz to her store (sorry this is not included in the sale).

Here is my card. It is really hard to tell from the picture but the large pink cardstock panel is sprayed with Shimmerz Baby's Breath Spritz. It looks really shimmery in real life.

TGIF!

Thank you for all the well wishes. I'm feeling a little better, at least my nose has stopped running. For some reason I get a cold this same time every year and it tends to linger on for the whole month of June. I'm crossing my fingers that this isn't the case this year.
I'm sharing one of the few cards left in "the stash" today. I made this card in February!! Yikes. Can't believe it is still sitting on my desktop. It uses one of my favorite butterfly stamps from DRS Designs and my absolute favorite Cosmo Cricket Gretel designer paper!
Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you all have a fabulous weekend.

Tomorrow is the May Firecracker Designs blog hop...I'm not participating this month but you should still check it out. My fellow design team members outdid themselves with a patriotic theme this month!

The new DRS Designs release is coming up in about a week and a half. The sneak peaks will start coming next week! You won't want to miss them!

Enjoy your weekend!

Graduation Time!

Hope everyone is having a great week. Unfortunately after having a super crazy week last week, this week I'm sick with one heck of a cold. So bad that I even skipped work this morning.
Since I haven't had the energy to make anything new yet this week, I am pulling another card from my "unblogged stash" (which is almost down to nothing after these past few weeks of not stamping).
Since graduation time is upon us, I thought would share a graduation card I made with one of the newly released stamps from DRS Designs.
Supplies used: stamps from DRS Designs, Quickcutz die, Swiss Dots embossing folder, SU CS, brads, foam dimensionals.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Shimmerz Big Blinkie Giveaway!

There is a fun new contest going on over on the Shimmerz blog! You won't want to miss this one! Here's how easy it is:

(1) Select your favorite of our blinkies on the right-hand column of the Shimmerz blog.
(2) Add your favorite Shimmerz blinkie to your blog. Just click on the "Want this badge?" link under the blinkie of your choice and the HTML code will be generated for you.
(3) Return to the Blinkie contest post on the Shimmerz blog and leave a comment indicating your blog address so we can get a load of your blog's new bling!

See? Totally easy! What's up for grabs? Well, that depends on you. We'll start off with one prize pack, and then the number of available prize packs (and, therefore, opportunities to win) will increase as more blogs sport a Shimmerz badge.

Already have a Shimmerz blinkie? Thank you! Please go ahead and leave a comment with your blog address on the Shimmerz blog contest post.

We'll accept comments on the Shimmerz blog contest post until 11:59PM Mountain Time on Saturday, May 30th. The drawing(s) will be held shortly thereafter.

Best of luck!

A Twinkling Jacksonbelle Challenge...

I did it again....my work schedule has been CRAZY so I haven't had much time to stamp in the past week or so. I finally found some stamping time yesterday but only enough time for one card. SO.....I combined challenges again (but only 2 this week).

First challenge is the Jacksonbelle Embellishments Tuesday blog challenge. This week the challenge is to use polka dots. If you decide to play along be sure to use keyword JBE055 when you upload to SCS or PCP. Jacksonbelle carries tons of awesome polka dot products that would work fabulous for this challenge. They have some beautiful Prima polka dot cs, polka dot May Arts ribbon and a super cute Prima polka dot clear stamp just to name a few!

My card also uses this week's Madelynn's Twinkling Tuesday sketch. Madelynn is back after taking a few weeks off and her sketch is fabulous! If you play along be sure to use keyword MTTSC24 when uploading to PCP or SCS.
My Jacksonbelle polka dot TT sketch card:
Supplies used: Stamps from DRS Designs, SU Cardstock, Basic Grey Pearls from Jacksonbelle, May Arts ribbon from Jacksonbelle, Cuttlebug die, Copic markers.

I hope you are all enjoying the start to your Memorial Day weekend! We have TONS of house projects that we are working on this weekend so probably not a lot of stamping time for me. If the weather is nice we plan on taking the kids canoeing tomorrow but we'll see.

Here is the card I made:

Supplies used: Stamps from Paper Makeup Stamps, SU CS, BG DP, EK Success corner punch, nestibilities, foam dimensional, Copic markers, Dress It Up glitter dots.

I suppose you would like to know who the lucky winner of my blog candy is, LOL. Without further ado, the winner is......

Shimmerz Spritz!!

Shimmerz Spritz is finally here! Shimmerz released 20 awesome colors of Shimmerz Spritz today. I have to say that I really really like the Spritz! I have used similar products in the past with little success but I am really happy with the results I've gotten with the Shimmerz Spritz. I sprayed cardstock, designer paper and Prima flowers with the Spritz and had great results with all of them.
The card I shared earlier today used Spritz on glossy paper. This card uses Spritz on white Prima flowers. I sprayed the flowers with Tuscan Sun and Mango Madness Spritz and layered them. The Spritz gives really even coverage and dries fairly quickly. The even coverage gives AMAZING shimmer. It is absolutely beautiful on Primas! Supplies used: Sentiment stamp from DRS Designs, Bazzil CS, SU CS, Basic Grey DP, Kaiser Pearls, Prima flowers, Shimmerz Spritz, Basic Grey brad, Martha Stewart punch.

Thanks for stopping by today. Stop by tomorrow for some fun blog candy! Hope you all had a fabulous day!

Twinkling Tuesday...on Wednesday

Work has been absolutely crazy this week. I usually only work 2 hours on Tuesdays and yesterday I ended up being at work for 6 hours so I never found time to get my Twinkling Tuesday card posted. The sketch this week was made by Jacky, Madelynn's younger brother.
Here is the sketch:

Here is my card: (I plan on taking a better picture later today when I have good natural light)
The orange marble paper was made using the new Shimmerz Spritz! I LOVE this stuff. For the marbled look I sprayed 2 colors of Shimmerz Spritz (Tuscan Sun and Mango Madness) onto glossy paper. I let it sit for 15-20 seconds and then I rubbed over the whole thing with a kleenex. I would probably recommend paper towels for this but I didn't have any in my stamp room at the time so I just used Kleenex. This technique gives a gorgeous shimmery marbled look.
It is really hard to tell from the picture but the darker marbled areas have a beautiful shimmer. The sentiment and butterfly stamps are from DRS Designs.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Jacksonbelle Tuesday!

Woohoo! It's time for another fun Jacksonbelle Embellishments challenge! This week the challenge is to make a cook-out inspired card! If you decide to play along with us, please use keyword JBE054 when uploading to SCS or PCP.

I was actually pretty happy with how my card turned out. Every year we have a 4th of July party and this year I am going to make invites. This was my first attempt at a BBQ invite:
For my card I used the newly released Bring on the BBQ set from Our Craft Lounge. The images are colored with Copic markers and the grill is painted with Fire Engine Red Shimmerz paint. Some DP and self adhesive pearls finished it off. Did you see that Jacksonbelle now carries Basic Grey Pearls and Rhinestones. These are an awesome deal at $1.80 per package. I ordered multiple packs of all of the pearl colors...you can never have too many for that price, LOL!

Here is my flap card:

a look at the inside:I am in love with this adorable little boy. I think maybe because he reminds me of myself as a kid. I was a total tomboy always catching bugs and frogs and such. Paper Makeup Sketch Challenge

I got my latest order from Paper Makeup Stamps a couple days ago and I couldn't wait to get them inked up. Since my stamp room is back in business I grabbed my new stamps and went to work. Paper Makeup also has a sketch challenge going on right so I decided to play along.

Here is the sketch:
Here is my card:Isn't this guy adorable!!! His name is Terry the Pterodactyl and he has 2 other adorable dino friends that you can see here. I hand drew the balloon strings and added die cut balloons that I covered with SU Crystal Effects and glitter. The Happy Birthday sentiment comes from the Humble Mouse set. I also added Marigold Shimmerz paint to the image for highlights.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you are all having a wonderful Thursday!

Don't forget...

The crocheted flower pre-sale at Jacksonbelle ends tomorrow. I already put my order in and can't wait for them to get here! If you are interested in pre-ordering these GORGEOUS flowers, email Lindsey at jacksonbelle@hotmail.com. The flowers are $7.99 for a package of 8 (shipping for up to 10 packages is only $2.25). These beauties are hand made by Melody Schwartz (aka lacyquilter on SCSers).

I hope you all have a great day!

High Hopes

I have high hopes of finally stamping today so I thought this card using a stamp from High Hopes was perfect to share. I made this card a couple months ago but just am finally getting around to sharing it. Last fall when I went to the annual stamp expo in town I bought some Coredinations cardstock. It sat in my stamp room for almost 6 months and I finally pulled it out for this card. This stuff is really cool. I bought the black textured cardstock with the colored core. For this card I used the blue. I only wanted a little blue to show so I used a sanding block on the cardstock until I got the desired look. This paper is super cool. Next I plan to use it with the cuttlebug embossing folders.
Now I'm off to get the kids some breakfast, throw in a load of laundry and then try and get caught up on some stamping! I hope you all have a wonderful day!
