Paper Pretties December Preview!

Welcome to our Prettie Peeks for the Paper Pretties December Release! We had so much fun last month using a well known song for our peeks that we thought we'd try it again! And.. since we love giving things away, we'll have the same rules for prizes as last month: Each day two or three of the Prettie Girls will upload their preview cards to the Paper Pretties gallery...If you stop by the Pretties Gallery and leave that Prettie Girl a comment on her card, you'll have a chance to win the new set being previewed - make sense?
The contest will end December 2nd and the winners will be posted on the Paper Clip. You can find the link to the specific cards in the Paper Pretties gallery on each blog post.
This month, in keeping with Christmas we've chosen a well known Christmas carol - Winter Wonderland as our preview inspiration! Today there are previews from Christie, Jennifer and myself. Be sure you stop by and leave a comment in the gallery for each card for your chance to win!

The first December set that I am previewing is called "Unknown Blessings". I LOVE this set! The two mailbox images are super fun and there are also some fun sentiments to go along with them.

To be totally honest, I sort of forgot about using the Winter Wonderland lyrics as inspiration when I made my card. It was a bit hard to find a lyric that fit the card after the fact, but I think it just might fit with "In the lane, snow is glistening"....my thinking is there are probably mailboxes "in the lane" and the bling on my card is "glistening", LOL.

Be sure to head on over to the Paper Pretties gallery and leave a comment on MY CARD for a chance to win this super fun set!

Also...Don't forget to stop on by the party in the Paper Pretties forum on December 1st at 7pm CST when all the stamps will be released for sale.

Oh and one more thing....Paper Pretties is having a Thanksgiving sale now through Sunday...30% off all Thanksgiving, Christmas and Winter stamps!

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving!!

Here is the inspiration piece:

I used the teal from the photo as the inspiration for my card. When I was looking through the Paper Pretties Gliding By gallery I saw a GORGEOUS card made by Prettie Girl Frances that I just had to CASE. Check out Frances' card HERE.

Here is my card:
I colored Gliding By Sophia with Copic markers and then added some Sparkly Fluff to her ear muffs and the fluffy thing on her arm. The snowflakes are made out of fast air drying polymer clay. I rolled the clay as flat as I could and let it dry for a while. I then used my Martha Stewart snowflake punch and punched the snowflakes. I let them dry for 24 hours longer and then added the rhinestones. It was my first time working with clay but I thought they turned out pretty good.

If you are just starting at my blog, head on over to Christie's blog to start from the beginning. You definitely won't want to miss any of the stops! If you are following the hop, the next stop after my blog is the blog of Prettie Girl Wendy Bond!

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you all have a terrific day! Be sure to stop back tomorrow for the first Paper Pretties December release preview!

SPAM comments?

Is anyone else having problems with an unusually high number of SPAM comments lately? I have been getting several per day and was just curious if anyone else was. I would hate to have to add the word verification back but I may have to if this doesn't end.

Hope you are all having a great weekend. Be sure to stop by tomorrow for a fabulous Little Paper Shop challenge!

New Moon Blog Hop!

I had so much fun playing along with the Twilight Tuesday anniversary blog hop a few weeks ago that when I saw they were doing a New Moon hop I knew I had to join in the fun again! If you are just joining in, be sure to start back at the very begining (Twilight Tuesday blog) to take in the whole hop! If you got here from Donna's blog you are on the right path!

I have to tell you that New Moon was NOT my favorite book in the Twilight series. The first time I read New Moon I nearly ruined my book by soaking it with tears. There are several pages that are warped and wrinkled beyond repair from tears being dripped all over them. Even after reading and/or listening to the audiobook 6 times the heartbreak when Edward leaves does not get any easier for me. Every time I start to get close to that part in the book I get a huge lump in my throat. As I've clearly expressed before, I am forever Team Edward! When I read New Moon I was still on the Twilight Edward high (I had just read Twilight the day before - I was one of those 4 books in 4 days girls) and had no tolerance for anyone else. Then New Moon Edward ripped out my heart. I was so mad at Edward for leaving and then so mad at Jacob for...nothing...I was just mad. I wasn't thrilled about Jacob in New Moon..I actually did not like him one bit. BUT....after about my 4th time through the book I started to warm up to Jacob. I'm still team Edward but I can definitely tolerate Jacob. Since I showed my love for Edward in the anniversary hop I decided to show my like for Jacob in this one.
My card is simple because I figured Jacob wouldn't approve of a fancy, frilly card, LOL.

Thanks for stopping by today! Next stop on the hop is my stamping pal Jackie!

I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Jacksonbelle Tuesday Challenge

It's Tuesday! That means it is time for another fabulous Jacksonbelle Tuesday challenge. This week we have a super fun inspiration challenge. Our challenge for you is to click on THIS LINK and pick one of the fabulous girls dresses as an inspiration piece. There are tons of different dresses to choose as your inspiration. If you play along, please be sure to let use know. Leave a link to your project on this blog post or use keyword JBE080 when uploading to SCS or PCP.

I chose this dress as my inspiration piece:
I actually think this dress is sort of hideous, LOL, but it gave me lots of colors to work with! For my card I used the totally adorable Stampavie Gillian F Roberts Snowman stamp. I just adore these awesome Stampavie winter images. I colored the image with Copic markers and added some Sparkly Fluff. The designer paper is My Mind's Eye. This paper is just GORGEOUS! Jacksonbelle has several different lines of My Mind's Eye in stock. I finished it off with some ribbon and a Making Memories button.

Hello all! Just wanted to give everyone the heads up that Lindsey is giving away some AWESOME Jacksonbelle goodies to one lucky customer this month. Here are the details:

Exciting News!! Every order large or small from now until Nov. 30th will be entered into a drawing to win this HUGE goodie bag from my store! (1 entry per order….you can order as many times as you like) 1 random winner will be chosen on December 1st and will be announced on the store blog! :)

Jbellegiveaway

Includes 23 sheets of October Afternoon paper; 6 x 6 Eerie Paper Pad from Basic Grey; 6 x 6 Jolly by Golly and Early Bird Paper Pads, Wonderland Rubon’s and stickers from Cosmo Cricket; Rubon’s from Crate Paper; Yards of ribbon from May Arts; Brads, Bling, Rubon Tape and Chipboard Tags from Daisy D; Crocheted Flowers and Spring stamp from Imaginisce; Epoxy Frames from Making Memories; 2 wood stamps from Inkadinkado; 2 Cuttlebug Embossing folders from Provo Craft; Bling from Me and My Big Ideas; Felt Flowers from We R Memory Keepers; 3 Websters Pages Rubon’s; Flowers, 2 Transparency Sheets, Tape, Corner stamps, collage sheets and Bling from Prima; Crocheted flowers by Melody.

Now for some organizing...those of you who know me well know that I am a bit OCD when it comes to organizing my stamp room. Tom has even asked on several occasions if I stamp or just reorganize my room every day, LOL. Well, I thought I would share some pictures of my latest reorg project. I transferred all of my stamps that I stored in CD cases into the plastic binder storage system similar to the ones that Gina K sells (but these were a lot cheaper, Thanks for the heads up on that one Jess!) - (I now have about 300 empty CD cases if anyone wants them). I'm pretty happy with my stamp room now except for my ribbon storage. I hate my current ribbon storage system. Just last week I bought one of those huge MM wall shelving units that has ribbon storage but since we are planning on putting the house up for sale after the 1st of the year Tom doesn't want to put any holes in the wall so that will just have to wait until my next stamp room. Here are some pics of my newly organized space!

Hope you all have a great day!

A Birthday Blog Hop - Pretties Style!

This is my 2nd post for today. Please scroll down to my previous post to see the Jacksonbelle Tuesday challenge!

Today is Prettie Girl Jen Greco's birthday! To celebrate, the rest of the Prettie Girls are having a birthday blog hop in her honor! If you are just joining in the hop be sure to start back at the begining -Christie's blog-because you won't want to miss any of the fabulous birthday cards! If you got here from Frances' blog you are on the right path!

I am very excited to be wishing Jen a happy happy birthday! Not only is Jen a fellow Prettie Girl but she is also my in town BFF. I consider myself incredibly lucky that by chance we met on SCS 3 years ago. I can't imagine what the last 3 years would have been like had we not met. Jen I hope you have an incredible birthday and many more!

I thought it only fitting to use Make A Wish Sophia for my card. Jen's house is majorly lacking in girls so I thought I would make her card as girly as possible...pinks, purples, glitter, bling...
Happy Birthday Jen!

Next stop on the birthday blog hop is Prettie Girl Wendy Bond! Be sure to follow the hop all the way to the end to leave some birthday love on Jen's blog.

Jacksonbelle Tuesday Challenge

Welcome back! It’s Tuesday, so that means it is time for another fun Jacksonbelle Tuesday challenge. This week we have a super fun challenge for you. The challenge this week is to make something for Christams...a bag, a tag, a gift, anything for Christmas. We’d love for you to play along with us. If you do, be sure to leave a comment on the Jacksonbelle blog with a link to your creation and/or use keyword JBE079 when uploading to PCP or SCS.

This challenge made me very nervous. I am not much of a gift or gift bag maker...actually I pretty much only make cards. Anything outside the card realm is a major challenge for me. I decided to try my luck with a gift tag. For my tag I used the AWESOME Sarah Kay Santa stamp from Stampavie. This image was a little intimidating at first but in the end I really like how the coloring turned out. I layered the image over some Basic Grey designer paper and other cardstock. The green ribbon is from Making Memories and the other ribbon is Amuse. Overall I was pretty happy with how it turned out. I colored the image with Copic markers and then added white Sparkly Fluff for the cuffs of Santa's hat and jacket.

LPS Monday Challenge

Welcome back! I hope you all had a great weekend! We have been riding the fever train at our house since Thursday. Sadly we are having the best November weather ever and the kids are too sick to go out and enjoy it. I'm hoping we are on the mend but both kids are home from school today. I'm crossing my fingers for some healthy days ahead because we can't stay cooped up in the house much longer and still stay sane, LOL.

It's Monday, so that means it time for another AWESOME Little Paper Shop challenge! This week we have a super fun sketch challenge for you! We'd love for you to play along. If you do, be sure to leave a link to your project on the LPS blog and/or use keyword LPSC41 when uploading to SCS or PCP.
One lucky participant in this week's challenge will win the LPS set {Merry & Bright}. You have until Sunday night to get your project linked on the LPS blog!

Here is the sketch:
I have to apologize for my card today. With both kids sick (and dh sick too) I haven't had a lot of time or energy to stamp. My card this week uses the exact same colors as last week's LPS card because those were the scraps that were still sitting on my table since last week.
I used the adorable {Katie Caroler} set for my main image and the sentiment comes from {Katie Christmas}. I colored my images with Copic markers and added white Sparkly Fluff snow (this is sorta hard to see in the photo). My main panel is popped up from the card base with foam dimensionals.

For more sketchy inspiration be sure to check out the blogs of the rest of the fabulous Little Paper Shop design team!
Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you all have a terrific Monday!

Here is the sketch:
For my card I used the GORGEOUS new Snowflakes Falling sentiment stamp that was just released November 1st. I just love how elegant and beautiful this sentiment is. For my card, I used Ruby Red and Vanilla cardstock along with some Cosmo Cricket designer paper. The vanilla felt snowflakes are from Hero Arts and I added some gold snowflake buttons and gold self adhesive pearls to spice them up a bit.

If you just started the blog hop here, head on over to Christie's blog to start from the beginning (because you won't want to miss anything!).... My fellow Prettie Girls surprised me by making this a belated Birthday blog hop! What a nice surprise to get my day off to good start! Thanks ladies, this totally made my day!!!!!
