Married almost 70 years

My sister told me about an article that was in our local newspaper earlier this week about a couple who both passed away on the same day this week after being married for almost 70 years. Check it out: HERE

Jacksonbelle Sketch Challenge #4

In an effort to find my stampin mojo, I decided to work on this week's Jacksonbelle sketch challenge. I actually used this same sketch for yesterday's Thank You card also. Part of the challenge is you have to use stamps from Inkadinkado. As you have probably figured out, I'm a big fan of Inkadinkado. I have more Inkadinkado stamp sets than I care to admit (and there are a few more new ones that I REALLY REALLY want, LOL).

Here is the sketch:Here is my card:

Suppies used: Inkadinkado stamps, SU CS, Basic Grey DP, Michael's self adhesive rhinestones, American crafts brads, Signo white gel pen, nestibilities, Orange Sakura gel pen, SU dazzling diamonds glitter.

I hope you are all enjoying your Saturday! Thanks for stopping by!

Here it is

Here is my Thank You card for Cammie's blog candy giveaway. Because I seem to have lost my stamping mojo this is an almost exact case of a card I made a few months ago. I'm not totally thrilled with it and I actually think I will probably change the ribbon at the bottom to something else before I mail it out.

Supplies used: Stamps from Inkadinkado, SU CS, Cosmo Cricket DP, Koh-i-noor colored pencils, OMS, Shimmerz paint, Lion's Mane glitter from Art Institute, self adhesive gems from Michael's, May Arts ribbon.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Only 3 hours left...

I am working on my card and hope to finish it and get it posted in the next few minutes.
You still have time and it is for a great cause, go check it out!

Bold Hibiscus

Today I thought I would show you a card I made using the Happy Hour stamp set from Firecracker Designs. Isn't this Hibiscus just beautiful? When I first stamped this, I wasn't quite sure what color a Hibiscus flower even was. After a Google search I learned that they come in almost ever color under the sun, check out some great photos HERE! These flowers are just beautiful! I decided to go with some bold red and yellow. This card actually looks much better in real life-it isn't quite as Ronald McDonaldy looking as it seems in this picture. If you are a follower of my blog you know that this card layout is one of my favs. I think this is the 4th card I've posted on here in the last 8 months using this layout, LOL.
Supplies used: Happy Hour stamp set from FCD, thank you sentiment from Inkadinkado, SU CS, Prismacolor markers, Art Institute black glitter, misc. ribbon, Primas leaf, Cuttlebug embossing folder.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Jacksonbelle Sketch Challenge #2

I did a little stamping last night to help me wind down from our crazy weekend! I decided to work on a project that I started early last week. I had the main background done but needed to finish it off with a main image. I had originally had a snowman image stamped for this card but it just didn't work for me so I decided to try out this bird. It is stamped on the white oval and then I stamped it a 2nd time on a scrap of white cs, cut it out and popped it up using a foam dimensional. I thought it worked much better than the snowman. I stamped the bird using Palette Moulin Rouge ink and then very carefully painted it with Burgandy Shimmerz paint. I highlighted the white areas using SU Dazzling Diamonds glitter. I am now caught up with the JB sketch challenges. I can't wait to see what they have in store for this week!

Supplies used: Bird stamp from Inkadinkado, Sentiment stamp from DRS Designs, SU CS, Debbie Mumm DP, Shimmerz burgandy paint, Rhinestones from Michael's and Amuse, Misc. ribbon.

I hope everyone had a great day! Thanks for stopping by!

6x6 OSW cards

A few weeks ago Verve Stamps had a 6x6 OSW sketch challenge contest. I didn't get around to participating while the contest was going on but I love the OSW concept and thought I would play around with these. For this challenge you were to use a 6x6 piece of double sided dp and cut it to the specifications they listed. You were then given 4 sketch challenges to use the cut pieces of dp. I only ended up doing 3 of the 4 sketches. All of my cards feature stamps from DRS Designs...let me know what you think.

Supplies used: All stamps are from DRS Designs, Fiskars DP, SU cardstock, misc. ribbon, Shimmerz paint, Dress it up Glitter Dots.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you have a great Monday!

Rockin' Out with Ralph!!!

We ended Annabelle's birthday weekend celebration with a bang today by rocking out with Ralph Covert of Ralph's World. If you have young children, I'm sure you know who I'm talking about. The concert was small and very up close and personal. Ralph shook hands and mingled with everyone before the concert started and even invited everyone up on stage for the last 2 songs! It was an awesome time for parents and kids! I HIGHLY recommend checking him out if he comes to your area!

Due to all of the birthday festivities, I haven't stamped in several days. I'm hoping to get back into my stamping groove now that the stress of a 5 year old's birthday party is over. I still have a bunch of fall DRS projects to show you though, so definitely stop tomorrow! Hope you are all having a great weekend!
