Color Throwdown #17

WOW, I can't believe the Color Throwdown ladies have been challenging us for #17 weeks already! I've been really busy lately and haven't played along in quite a while. I love this weeks Halloween color combo and just happened to need one more Halloween card for our neighbor so I couldn't resist joining in this weeks fun!

This was a quick and simple card. I think it took me less than 30 minutes which is CRAZY considering I think I average about an hour and a half for every card I make.
Here is a close up of the cat. I cut the cat out covered with glitter and popped up with foam dimensionals.Supplies used: Stamps from Inkadinkado and Studio G, SU CS, Debbie Mumm DP, Bazzil Bling CS, Nestibilities pinking circles, Dazzling Diamonds glitter, Black Art Institute glitter, alcohol markers, Martha Stewart fence punch, MM silver bat brads (I dyed them with stazon black in and covered them with glitter)

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Happy Halloween!

I don't have any Halloween cards to share today but I do have some pumpkin carving photos. A couple nights ago Tom and the kids carved a pumpkin. I tried to take pictures of them all engaged in the pumpkin carving process but to be totally honest the kids would rather pretend to be monkeys and monsters and princesses than pay attention to the pumpkin carving. They did mange to get it done but I can say the kids were not much help. I carved 5 more yesterday but haven't taken any pictures of them yet. I'll try and get that done tonight and will post more tomorrow.

Here's our monkey
and our 2 monsters

getting everyone to look at the camera is impossible!

I actually have a card to share today too. I made this a few weeks ago but since I am running on the "simple" theme this week I thought I would share this card I made using the Funky Tree set from Queen Kat Designs. BTW, QKD is having a sale today only - 25% off all QKD stamps.
Supplies used: Stamps from QKD, SU CS, SU DP, Cuttlebug embossing folder, misc ribbon, self adhesive rhinestones, SU corner punch, foam dimensionals, rhinestone brads.

I hope you all have a Happy Halloween. We have lots of trick or treating to do today so hopefully I will have to cute pictures of Sleeping Beauty and Scooby Doo to show you tomorrow!
Thanks for stopping by!

DRS Designs Blog Challenge #7

Can you believe we are already on our 7th DRS Blog Challenge! Our challenge for this next two week period is a sketch challenge! Everyone loves sketch challenges and we would love for you to play along. There is no time limit and you can use whatever stamps you like (although we would love it if you would use DRS Designs stamps if you have them). Be sure to come back and leave a comment with a direct link to your creation so we can check it out. If you post to SCS, please use the keyword DRSC7.

Here is the sketch:After making nothing but Christmas cards the past few weeks I decided to try something different. For my card I stamped the flower background on Basic Grey pink paper. I painted each of the flowers with Angel Wings Shimmerz paint. For the flowers, I started with white Prima flowers and colored them with Bic Mark It permanent markers, then painted over each one with Angel Wings Shimmerz paint.Supplies used: Stamps from DRS Desigsn, SU CS, Basic Grey DP, Cuttlebug embossing folder, Prima flowers, MM shimmery brad, Shimmerz paint, Misc ribbon, Foam dimensionals.

Be sure to check out the DRS Designs blog to see what the rest of the talented DT came up with for this sketch! Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you have a wonderful start to your week!
