A Prettie Wednesday!

It's Wednesday! That means it is time for another fabulous Wednesday Prettie Challenge and blog hop! This week's challenge comes from Prettie Girl Julie! Julie challenged the Prettie Girls to create a card with a clean and simple layout. We would love for you to ink up your Paper Pretties stamps and play along with us. Our challenge to you is to chose any one of the layouts the Prettie Girls are showing off today and make a card with it! One lucky challenge participant will win a $15 coupon to the Paper Pretties Boutique. Here are the challenge details:
How to Enter: make a card using the provided sketch and any Paper Pretties stamp set(s) you have. Upload the card to the Paper Pretties gallery. Please include it in the Weekly Challenges album and use keyword PWC75.
Deadline: 6pm EST Tuedsay, November 3rd.
Prize: $15.00 coupon to the Paper Pretties Boutique

Clean and simple is definitely a challenge for me. I'm not even sure my card falls into the clean and simple category but it is about as simple as I could make it without feeling like it absolutely needed more. I went with a simple layout with minimal embellishing. Since Halloween is coming up in a couple days I decided to use the adorable "Pick of the Patch" Cooper again. I just can't help but smile every single time I lay eyes on this cutie!

I'm the last stop on this week's hop. If you are just starting at my blog, head on over to Christie's blog to start from the beginning. You definitely won't want to miss any of the stops!

Be sure to check the Prettie Girl blogs again tomorrow for more of the November release previews! I'll be back on Friday with another one of my preview cards!

Oh...Don't forget to stop on by the party in the Paper Pretties forum on November 1st at 8pm EST when all the stamps will be released for sale. You won't want to miss it!

I hope you all have a wonderful day! Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Anniversary Twilight Tuesday!!

I have multiple blog posts today. Please scroll down to previous posts to see the Jacksonbelle Tuesday Challenge and the Paper Pretties Preview list.

Welcome to the Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge Anniversary Blog Hop! If you arrived her from Eve Fowler's blog you are on the right track. If you are just joining in, be sure to start back at the beginning (The TTIC blog). You won't want to miss anything!

Happy 1 Year Anniversary to the Twilight Tuesday Inspiration challenge! For those of you unfamiliar with TTIC, it is a super fun weekly challenge inspired by the Twilight series of books. Those of you who know me well, you know that I am completely in love with these books. Funny thing is, a year ago I knew nothing about Twilight what so ever! I hadn't read the books and knew nothing of Edward Cullen...can you imagine how sad my life must have been, LMBO! Then by chance one day I read about the TTIC on my friend Rebecca's blog. Honestly I didn't really think much of it, just looked at her lovely creation. Then as the days passed, I kept seeing more and more and more posts on her blog about someone named Bella...and then Edward...and more and more..and I was thinking "What is up with this lady?" Seriously, LOL! So after reading several of Rebecca's Twilight blog posts I decided that I had to check out this "Twilight" she kept talking about. I bought the book the day before Thanksgiving last year. We were going to be at my parents for Thanksgiving so I figured I'd get a little reading time in. I started the book after we finished Thanksgiving lunch on Thursday and by Sunday night I had read Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn. Yep...4 books in 4 days! It is a good thing my husband was off of work for the holiday weekend (so he could tend to the kids) because my mind was forever lost in the world of Twilight. I have now read or listened to (I have all 4 audiobooks on my ipod) each book at least 6 times. I have walked through the grocery store listening to New Moon with tears pouring down my face and I have laughed out loud to myself on the city bus listening to Bella say "Why am I covered in feathers". I am forever grateful to Rebecca for turning me on to Twilight and changing my life!
I love the Twilight Tuesday challenges! Even though I don't find a lot of time to play along I do love to look at all of the fabulous creations made by the super talented dt! When I saw they were having a Anniversary blog hop I knew I had to ink up some of my Twilight stamps!
For my card I decided to use last week's TTIC51 "Edward" inspiration for my project.
I have to say that even though I love New Moon Jacob...I am forever Team Edward.
For my card I used the TGF Wild Sprout Edward stamp. Isn't he just perfect! My sentiment comes from the super fun Twilight themed Artful Inkables set "Fictionally Inspired".
I also wanted to give a big shout out to some generous sponsors of today's TTIC blog hop:

Phew....that was a long post....if you managed to stick with me this long....the next stop on the hop is Tamara Bennett.

I hope you all have a wonderful day! Thanks for stopping by!

A Few of My Favorite Things...Paper Pretties Preview

This is my 2nd blog post of the day. To see my Little Paper Shop Monday challenge please scroll down to the previous post.

Welcome to our Prettie Peeks for the Paper Pretties November Release! This month we thought we'd have some fun and give you a chance to win the new releases. Since our Pretties are some our favorite things, our peeks will be based on the lyrics to the song "A Few Of My Favorite Things". Each day two or three of the Prettie Girls will upload their challenge cards based on a line from the song. If you stop by the Pretties Gallery and leave that Prettie Girl a comment on what your 'FAVORITE THING' about her card is, you'll have a chance to win the new set that has been used in that challenge - make sense? The contest will end November 2nd and the winners will be posted on the Paper Clip. You can find the link to the specific cards in the Paper Pretties gallery on each blog post.

Today's Prettie previewers are:
Christie: Raindrops on Roses
Danielle: Wiskers on Kittens
Me: Bright Copper Kettles

My Preview set today is actually a sneak peak of the December Paper Pretties Stamp of the Month....Bubble Time Sophia! Isn't she absolutely adorable! I know I say that about every single Sophia stamp but seriously...look at her. I adore this stamp. I had so much fun coloring her and glittering up those bubbles. Such a fun set! To fit in with my "Bright Copper Kettles" theme I painted up the feet and edge of the tub with some Spiced Cider Shimmerz Blingz. It gives it a really pretty copper look. Be sure to head over to the Paper Pretties gallery and leave a comment on my card telling me your favorite thing about it! (you can click on the photo to see the copper in more detail)
Supplies used: Bubble Time Sophia from Paper Pretties, SU CS, DCWV glittered CS, Copic markers, Spiced Cider Shimmerz Blingz, self adhesive glitter pearls, EK Success bubble border punch, foam dimensionals.

Be sure to check out the Prettie Girls' blogs all week for more previews!

Oh...Don't forget to stop on by the party in the Paper Pretties forum on November 1st at 8pm EST when all the stamps will be released for sale. You won't want to miss it!

Hope you all have a terrific day! Thanks for stopping by!

A weekend post...

I know I haven't been posting much on the weekends lately but today I wanted to share a little chipboard album that I made recently and remind everyone of the Paper Pretties design team call.

First off...Design Team Call!
Paper Pretties is having a design team call! There are only a couple more days left ...the call ends on Tuesday Oct 27th.

Here are all of the details:
The requirements are 6 cards or projects per month for a 6 month term. If you'd like to submit your work for consideration please email good quality pictures of 3 cards or projects that you consider your best work using Paper Pretties stamps to christie@paperpretties.net. Please include your name, SCS username if you have one, and your blog address. The DT call is open until the 27th of October. Because of the number of submissions, we will not be able to email everyone back. If you are chosen you will receive an email from us by October 31st. Thank you in advance for all of the hard work that goes into submitting for DT calls!

2nd...I wanted to share my Paper Pretties chipboard album that I made a couple weeks ago.
As usual I have to gush about how much I love my Paper Pretties stamps...Falling For You Sophia...ADORABLE!!! Have I mentioned that I LOVE all of the Sophia stamps from Paper Pretties, LOL! This stamp reminds me of my childhood. We used to rake huge piles of leaves and play in them every fall. Our current neighborhood is relatively new and we don't have many mature trees but we still rake up as many leaves as we can for our kids to jump in. That actually might even be our plans for today! If the weather cooperates it will be a great photo opportunity. I'm a mom who is constantly pulling photos of my kids out of my purse to show people, so I thought I would make a little album to put the fall pictures of my kids in. The album pages are a Sizzix die that I used on DCWV chipboard. I used some fun ribbon and fibers to tie my pages together. I'm not usually a person who alters anything but I was really happy with how this turned out.
Thanks for stopping by today. This week is the Paper Pretties November release preview week and the design team has a ton of fabulous projects to share all week. Check back tomorrow for preview day #1. I'll also have the Little Paper Shop Monday Challenge for you tomorrow. Hope you are all having a great weekend!

Jacksonbelle Tuesday Challenge

Well, today is my very last blog post.....as a 34 year old, LOL. I honestly can't figure out where time went. I can't really be turning 35, can I? Dang! 35 always seemed to be the line that divided young and old in my mind. Now that I'm there I think I might have to move the line (although Tom says I've been old for a long time already) LOL. I guess getting older is just a fact of life but I'm just not sure I'm ready...I still haven't figured out what I want to be when I grow up. For the time being I guess I'll just keep playing with my paper, glue, scissors and such and pretend that I'm never going to grow up.

So it's Tuesday...that means a new Jacksonbelle challenge. We have a fabulous sketch for you this week. We'd love for you to play along with us. If you do, be sure to leave us a link to your project on the challenge post on the JB blog and/or use keyword JBE076 when you upload to SCS or PCP.
Here is the sketch:
For my card I used the awesome Eerie designer paper from Basic Grey. This is some of the best Halloween designer paper I've seen. Basic Grey makes creepy appear beautiful, LOL. I also used a fun Martha Stewart bat punch. And speaking of MS...all Martha Stewart punches are on sale 30% off at Jacksonbelle right now! All Inkadinkado stamps and stamp sets are 40% off too. It's a great time to do some shopping!

Jacksonbelle Tuesday Challenge!

It's that time again! Time for the Jacksonbelle Tuesday Challenge. This week the challenge is to use vellum on your project. We'd love for you to play along. If you do, be sure to leave us a link to your project on the challenge post on the JB blog and/or use keyword JBE075 when you upload to SCS or PCP.

First off, I have to tell you...I don't use vellum. I think this might actually be the very first ever card with vellum posted on my blog. I'm actually surprised that I even had any to use. After struggling for hours (literally - over 5 hours) I was finally able to come up with a card that I don't like but am not embarassed to post on my blog. I started off by trying to stamp on vellum and color an image and then I tried it again and finally after spending 4 hours and throwing my card in the garbage, I decided to just emboss the vellum with a Cuttlebug folder. Much easier. Like I said, I still am not thrilled with this card but I know when to say when.

I used tons of awesome Jacksonbelle goodies on my card....Basic Grey DP and Basic Grey bling flower centers, Shimmerz paint, MM trim, Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder and Martha Stewart leaf punch.

Oh and speaking of Shimmerz...ALL Shimmerz and Stickles are on sale at Jacksonbelle. It is a great time to stock up for all of your upcoming holiday projects!

I also managed to get 3 cards done too, woohoo! One of those cards was for today...yikes! I usually try to have my design team projects done at least 2-3 weeks ahead of deadline but lately I've been a bit behind. It is Monday so that means it is time for another fun Little Paper Shop challenge. This week our challenge is a sketch courtesy of the talented Allison Fillo. We would love for you to play along with us. A random participant in this week's challenge will win the new Christmas set {Merry & Bright}. SCACD WCMD challenge

I hope you all had a great weekend. Did you get lots of stamping done on WCMD? Unfortunately we spent most of WCMD dealing with doctors and dentists. Beckett woke up Saturday morning with half of his face completely swollen. Unfortunately a couple weeks ago when he hit his chin at the hotel, he not only cut his chin open but he cracked a tooth. Ever since the accident his tooth can been bothering him but we just thought his jaw was sore from the fall. Unfortunately for 2 weeks the cracked tooth just got infected. Saturday afternoon after a trip to the urgent care and then to the emergency dentist he had to go through a very traumatic tooth extraction.
Here is a picture of him and his poor swollen face:
Thankfully the antibiotics and pain killers have helped out a lot. He seems to be doing a lot better today. He still looks awful but the swelling should start going down soon.
So with all of that craziness yesterday, my WCMD stamping had to be postponed until today.
I got a little bit of time to stamp this afternoon so I decided to play along with the challenge posted over on the SCACD blog. They had a fun 2 part challenge...sketch & color. The color requirement was to use Christmas colors: red, green, gold, silver, white.
Here is their sketch:
I flipped the sketch to work with my image. I used this adorable Victoria Case image "Matthew" from SCACD. Isn't he so cute...totally reminds me of Beckett. (Sorry for the wonky lighting - I just finished my card at 7pm and the natural light is zero. I'll try and take a better photo in the morning)
Check out the resemblance between the card and the picture of Beckett...the fact that he is wearing a red shirt with a green dino is a total coincidence.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you all had a great weekend!
