Paper Pretties World Card Making Day Challenge #1

This is my 2nd post of the day. To see my Little Paper Shop Release Day post, please scroll down to preview post.

Welcome to Paper Pretties' festivities for World Card Making Day! Not sure if you all noticed my side bar but as of Thursday I am officially a Prettie Girl! I was so excited when Christie asked me to join the Pretties team! I adore all of the Paper Pretties images and can't wait to start sharing more projects with you.
To celebrate World Card Making Day, Paper Pretties is hosting 3 fabulous challenges throughout the day: 1 in the morning, 1 in the afternoon and 1 in the evening. Be sure to check the Paper Clip for all of today's challenges. You can pick 1 to do (or all 3 if you like :D ). On October 5th at 11:00 pm Christie will draw a winner from all of the entries in the Paper Pretties Challenge Gallery in the Paper Pretties Forum (please use keyword WCMD when you upload your card) to receive the newly released set Season of Joy. That means you'll have all weekend to work on your challenge card. You can use any products you like, but the main image must be one from Paper Pretties. The winner will be posted on the Paper Clip on the 6th!

Also, don't forget that ALL day today you can get 15% off your entire Paper Pretties order - even clearance merchandise! Just enter the coupon code wcmd (case sensitive, no spaces) when you check out! With the whole store on sale, it is a great time to stock up on all of those Sophia and Cooper stamps I know you've be wanting!

CHALLENGE #1
The first challenge was given by our incredibly talented design team member Jana. Jana's challenge is to make a project using the following colors: Light Pink, Medium Pink, Taupe, Black and White.

I just got Make A Wish Sophia in the mail a few days ago and I couldn't wait to get her inked up. Isn't she just adorable.
If you are wondering where my taupe is...I colored the table with a taupe-ish color Copic, LOL.

For more color inspiration check out the blogs of my fellow Prettie Girls Jana Weaver and Christi Thorsen

Be sure to check the Paper Clip throughout the day for challenges #2 and #3.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you all have a fabulous World Card Making Day!

Lady Liberty

Today I thought I would share another card that I made for last week's Paper Pretties fun foam blog challenge. I have to say I'm not a huge fan of fun foam but it was fun playing around with it. This time around I "borrowed" some squiggle fun foam pieces from Annabelle's fun foam gingerbread man kit. I thought they were too plain as white so I added some Stampin Up Dazzling Diamonds to jazz them up a bit. The main image and sentiment are from the Lady Liberty set from Paper Pretties. Lady Liberty Sophia is colored with Copic markers.
Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to stop back tomorrow for another Little Paper Shop October release preview!

Little Paper Shop Monday Challenge (and a preview)!

I hope you all had a great weekend. Thankfully I was able to get in a teeny tiny bit of R&R over the weekend. Probably not as much as I needed, but enough to keep me going for a few more days. Tom is starting to feel better. I think he is actually planning on heading back to work today for the first time in a week. This is a good thing... I really need him to go back. Not because I don't want him here, but honestly I need our life to get back to normal.
And speaking of getting back to normal, I did get a little bit of stamping time this past week. Good thing, since today is the first preview day of the October Little Paper Shop release.

The October Little Paper Shop releases are AWESOME. Actually AWESOME is an understatement. I absolute love every single one of them! Are you ready to get working on your Christmas cards? If so, this is the release for you! The new release sets will be available to purchase on Saturday Oct 3rd.
Today the design team is giving you a fabulous sneak peak at the first of 4 new sets...{Katie Caroler}. This set is totally adorable and so fun to create with!
Not only is today preview day #1, but it is also challenge day. We have a super fun sketch for you this week. We'd love for you to play along too. If you do, be sure to leave a link to your creation on the LPS blog. One lucky challenge participant this week will will {Katie Caroler). You also have a 2nd chance to win {Katie Caroler} just by leaving a comment on the LPS blog today!

Here is the sketch:

Here is my card:

This sketch was so much fun that I made a 2nd card with it. My 2nd card uses the recently released {Jena Witch} set. I just think she is the cutest witch EVER!

Is it the weekend yet?

Man do I need some down time. The weekend can't get here soon enough. With Tom sick not only am I doing all of my normal duties but I'm also trying to do his. He normally takes Annabelle to school which doesn't seem like a huge thing but trying to get her up and dressed and breakfast is hard enough, but then I have to get myself together and get her to school. Not to mention trying to deal with getting Beckett up and to school too. Thankfully today he can stay in bed while I take her since he doesn't have school today. I've also been sleeping on the floor in the kids' bedroom the past few nights in an effort to stay away from Tom (who the doctors said most likely has H1N1). My back is killing me and I am dead exhausted.
Ok, enough of my pity party...

Here is another card that I made for the Taylored Expressions Birthday Bash a couple weeks ago. The main image is from Wiff of Joy and the sentiment is from Verve.
Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you all have a great day!

It's Wednesday...

Boring blog post title, but I couldn't think of anything else. The kids are at school and Tom is in bed with what we think is the flu. Crossing our fingers that it isn't H1N1, but either way he is totally miserable. I'm being sort of psycho about quarantining him because I really don't want the kids to get sick. I spent the morning shopping in an effort to stay as far away from him as possible. I went to Joann's and picked up a few things and then headed to our local scrapbook store. I'm hoping to play with my new goodies this afternoon, but we'll see how things go. I may be taking Tom to the doctors office, who knows. For now, I thought I would share a card that I made using one of the Victoria Case images from SCACD. I absolutely love this image and had so much fun paper piecing her. The sentiment stamp is from Verve.

Thanks for stopping by today! Don't forget about the Jacksonbelle September Challenge contest going on right now. You could win a $50 JB gift certificate. Check out all the details by clicking on the JB contest blinkie on my side bar.

It's a 2 post kind of day...

If you want to see my Little Paper Shop Monday challenge post, please scroll down to previous post.

Since I took such a long break from blogging over the weekend I thought I would share another card today. When I got home yesterday I needed to unwind from the chaotic weekend so I decided to stamp for a bit. I decided to combine a couple challenges from last week for my card. Danni's Flutter By challenge last week was to make a card with butterflies and sparkle...the Paper Pretties challenge was to make a card using fun foam. So... I combined them both and made a card using sparkly fun foam butterflies, LOL.
Isn't Flutter By Sophia adorable! I just love all of the Sophia stamps from Paper Pretties. I paired her up with this gorgeous Jenni Bowlin designer paper that I got from Jacksonbelle. Jacksonbelle has 8 different Jenni Bowlin collections in stock. The glittered fun foam butterflies are from Making Memories.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you are all having a great day! Check back tomorrow for the newest Jacksonbelle Tuesday challenge!

Little Paper Shop Monday Challenge

I'm back! I know it has been a few days since I last posted but I'm back now! We left on Thursday morning for Minneapolis so I could take the Copic certification class. I can now say that I am certified! The class was a lot of fun and it was even better because I got to take it with my friend Kisa. It was so fun meeting her and hanging out for the afternoon. The rest of the weekend was filled with lots of other fun activities...Scrapfest, Annabelle's birthday, an afternoon at the amusement park at Mall of America, a visit to Underwater Adventure aquarium...lots of stuff. Unfortunately in amongst the fun we also had to make a trip to an urgent care clinic at 7:30 Friday night due to a mishap at the hotel pool. Thankfully they were able to super glue Becketts chin instead of stitches! Needless to say it was a busy, EXHAUSTING weekend. I am happy to be home and sleeping in my own bed!
With all that said...it is time for another fabulous Little Paper Shop Monday challenge! Before I get to the challenge part, I want to wish my fellow LPS design team member Bonnie a HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Be sure to stop by Bonnie's blog and give her some love today!
Now...the challenge...today we have a fun color challenge for you....Rose Red, Summer Sun and Pumpkin Pie. One random lucky participant this week will win one of the newly released sets {Jena Witch}. If you play along be sure to leave a link to your project on the LPS blog to be eligible to win. If you upload to SCS or PCP please use keyword LPSC34.

Here is my card for this week:

Paper Pretties Inspiration Challenge

Last week the Paper Pretties blog posted an inspiration challenge. I am not usually very good at these types of challenges but I thought I would give it a try.

Here is the inspiration piece:

It took me a while to decide what elements to use for my card...I wasn't sure if I wanted to go with a southwest theme or a quilt theme, but in the end I just went with the sure and safe color challenge. I picked teal, ruby and yellow out of the comforter as my color challenge.
Here is my card:
I was really happy with how this turned out. Sophia always puts a smile on my face! I used some new Jenni Bowlin designer paper that I got from Jacksonbelle Embellishments. The colors coordinated great with my cardstock. The border punch is from the Martha Stewart collection. The Sophia image is from Paper Pretties and the sentiment is from DRS Designs.

I hope you are all having a great week. I am leaving bright and early tomorrow morning to head to Minneapolis to meet up with Kisa and take the Copic certification class. I am SOOOOO excited. Then Friday is Scrapfest at Mall of America! Talk about all around fun! Saturday is Annabelle's birthday so we are going to do some family stuff around Minneapolis and then Sunday the long drive home. I won't have much time for internet or email so please don't think I'm ignoring you if I don't answer emails or visit your blogs until Sunday.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!

Paper Makeup Release Challenge + MTTI06

Paper Makeup Stamps had their September release last week and as part of their release they posted a couple challenges. One of the challenges was "I've got a CASE of PMS". The challenge was to pick a card from the Paper Makeup Stamps gallery on SCS and CASE it.
I chose a GORGEOUS card by Lisa Kind to CASE. The first time I saw her card a few weeks ago on the PMS blog I was in awe. It is seriously beautiful! Sadly, my card doesn't even begin to come close the beauty of hers but I gave it a try. To see her card, click HERE.
Here is my card:
I CASED Lisa's card's layout and used this week's My Time To Create Inspiration challenge for my colors.

Thanks for stopping by today! Check back tomorrow for a peak at one of this month's Little Paper Shop releases! You won't want to miss it!

TGIF!

We have had a crazy week. School, swimming lessons, housework...yikes! I didn't stamp at all this week but thanks to my crazy stamping marathon from last weekend I have a card to share today (and a bunch more to share in upcoming days).
This is another one of the cards that I made for one of the Taylored Expressions Birthday Bash challenges.

Here is the sketch:

Here is my card:
Isn't this the cutest Christmas Elf EVER!!!! This adorable fellow is one of the newly released stamps from DRS Designs. I have forever been in love with every single Cutie Pie image at DRS and these new Christmas release Cutie Pies are AWESOME. To see the entire DRS new release, click HERE. There are a total of 3 Cutie Pies in this release and they are all adorable.

Taylored Expressions Birthday Bash Challenge

I hope everyone is having a great week! Today I wanted to share another one of the Taylored Expressions Birthday Bash challenge cards that I made. There were 13 challenges posted over the weekend and as crazy as this sounds...I managed to do every single one of them. 13 cards over a 4 day period. Talk about stamping marathon (considering I average about 2 hours per card). The good thing about all of this is, I have a nice size stash of cards to share over the next few weeks!
There were a couple sketch challenges in the bunch and I thought I would share one of them today.
Here is the sketch:

Here is my card:

I probably should have waited for better natural light to take this photo but I was so happy with the card I wanted to share it right away. This adorable image is from SCACD. Isn't he just the cutest! Totally reminds me of Beckett. I got a lot of Copic practice in this weekend. I think 10 of the 13 cards that I made had images to color. I was thrilled with how this one turned out. I'm still very new at coloring with Copics so my coloring attempts are not always at successful as this one ...BUT....next week I am taking the Copic certification class so hopefully I will learn tons of tips! To make the class even better (actually this is better than the class entirely)...my dear dear friend Kisa is flying in and taking it too! I get to spend the day playing with Copics and hanging out with Kisa...it doesn't get better than this...SERIOUSLY!!!

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you all have a wonderful day!
